 About Sonia Begonia Studios
Sonia Begonia Studios is the vision of Sonia Vargas who has a passion for teaching music and the piano. Sonia also teaches music and movement classes as a certified Kindermusik teacher in the Seattle area.
Sonia was born into a family of performing artists and teachers and quite naturally became a teacher herself soon after her first daughter was born in 1995. She is patient and creative in her teaching style, allowing the individuality and uniqueness of each student to help shape each lesson into one which has meaning and joy. She helps her students gain confidence by fostering active listening and playing skills, and she nurtures the innate musical talents of her students by providing tailored lesson plans. Sonia takes into consideration the learning styles of each student and partners with parents in supporting the music education of each child.
She teaches children and adults from ages four to one hundred and four .Sonia remarks, "My Grandma lived to be one hundred and one, so I expect one day to have a student that young at heart as well!" Sonia enjoys her adult students and welcomes beginners of any age!
Sonia specializes in the first five years of piano and encourages her students to sing or hum while playing to develop sensitivity in their own playing. Sonia participates in her local, state and national music teacher associations to continue her own professional education and development in the art of teaching music.
